"Thai Massage is like a thousand gentle waves washing over the body.
Thai massage is like yoga for lazy people. Instead of doing yoga, they do it for you."
Master Chongkol Setthakorn
Ancient Thai Massage is a unique form of Body Therapy that incorporates Hata Yoga, Reflexology, meridian work and Acupressure.
It starts with a prayer, and ends with a backbend...
Centuries ago, a dynamic bodywork therapy based on Yoga and Ayurveda was born in the temples of Thailand. In this unique healing system of Thai Yoga Massage - also called Nuad Boran - and widely known as Traditional Thai Massage, (Nuad Phaen Boran ) - the practitioner guides the recipient through a series of passive Yoga postures while palming and thumbing along the ''Sen Lines'', the body's energy lines and pressure points. Together these actions result in a comprehensive full body treatment that relieves muscular tension, improves circulation, boosts the immune system and balances the body energetically.
The therapeutic basis of Thai Yoga Massage is rooted in the Indian healing tradition of Ayurveda; the word Ayurveda derives from two sanskrit words: Ayur, meaning "life" and Veda , meaning "knowledge" thus, this science of living functions as a guide to the proper maintenance of life.
Course overview:
____________________________________________________________
A practical and theoretical training in the art of Traditional Thai Yoga Massage where you will learn the complete traditional set of Thai Massage in the Front, Side, Back and Sitting positions, following the northern Thailand style of teaching of Chiang Mai Schools as follows:

- Stretching, Mobilizations and Deep pressure techniques to release muscle tension and improve flexibility
- All relevant muscle and skeletal A&P

Every class starts with a Yoga session/Meditation, followed by the Tutor practical demonstration and all day practice.
All techniques are on a futon with light-weight clothing required to allow for flexible movement.
Course materials include a detailed folder containing a step-by-step guide to all practical techniques and notes for all theory lectures, and soon to be edited Francesca's Thai Yoga Massage DVD. A bibliography for other recommended reading is discussed in the first class.
The course is suitable for:
_____________________________________________________________________
- Complete beginners thinking of starting a career in body work
- People who simply wish to learn an effective healing art to practice on friends and family

Length of Course:
The course consists of 10 lessons (60 training hours). Each lesson begins with a lecture and demonstration, followed by all day supervised practice. Unlike other courses, we do not divide training in Level 1 and 2 as in order to practice and understand the full sequence the whole training has to be undertaken.
All classes begin at 10.30 am and finish at 5.30 pm.A detailed time-table will be emailed once you will register.
A more flexible timetable is also offered on request for a minimum of 6 students.
Once qualified, Students will also benefit from ongoing training days where at no extra cost they will be assisting the Tutor with new classes with the role of Student/Assistant.
