Laura is a Holistic practitioner based in Surrey, UK. She took various courses in art, psychology and counselling before continuing with her training within the holistic industry. She completed her ITEC diploma in Holistic Massage, Anatomy, Pathology and Physiology in 2013. Since this, her training has included learning skills in Thai Yoga Massage, Seated Acupressure, Reiki, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Natural Facials, Indian Head Massage, Table Thai and Deep Tissue Fusion.
Laura found an interest in home practices of the Tibetan 5 Rites and this led her onto a better understanding of yoga. She became interested in Buddhist and Taoist philosophies, and this resulted in her exploration of the world of meditation. She harnessed her interest by attending two Buddhist Retreats at a Brighton Centre. Following a family bereavement, Laura’s relationship with meditation and yoga deepened considerably. Regular practice both at home and local classes has allowed her to appreciate the gentle progress that can be made. She plans to take a Yoga T.T. course in 2017/18 so that she can develop her understanding to facilitate one-to-one training within a yogic perspective. Laura practices meditation and yoga daily both to compliment her lifestyle as well as her work.
Her first encounter with Thai Massage was when she attended a yoga retreat. Instead of the usual massage she would normally book, she decided to choose a Thai Massage. The treatment was like no other. It was like taking yoga to the next level! She knew she had to learn this art. This also coincided with her deep interest in meditation so it all seemed so synchronized. She then furthered her studies with Shen Mantra and she is currently assisting Francesca in London, teaching the Thai Yoga Massage Diploma Course.
In her early years, Laura trained in classical ballet in South Africa from the age of 7 and then at the Royal Academy of Dance in the UK from 9 years old until 19 until intermediate level and pointe work. Through the years, she has gathered experience of movement both through classes including ballet, modern dance, capoeira, karate, hoop dance, yoga, 5rhytyms and dancing for fun at various world dance music events.
She co-created an event massage collective where she and her fellow therapists set up a beautiful area from which they treat. Events have included Noisily Festival, OM & Bass Festival, Schoola Hoop Camp, Wonderland, and more recently, Morning Gloryville. They hope to expand their idea to encompass an all senses experience in 2017 including light, sounds and scents.
Laura has always been interested in creativity and connecting with people. Her mission is to inspire and get people thinking about their health for longevity and embracing and cherishing their uniqueness. She loves to take in as much as possible finding complimentary dynamics between many things.
Laura has experience working in holistic clinics and luxury spas. She currently works at a Surrey clinic as well as home visits in Surrey, Middlesex and London.
